- Calling for Amendment of the Constitution toward Labor-friendly Regime
Top leaders of the FKTU and the KCTU visited Chung Sye-Kyun, Speaker of the National Assembly and Kim Jae-Kyung, Chairman of the Constitutional Amendment Committee within the National Assembly, in early April to deliver their joint proposal on the amendment of the Constitution. The major points of the proposal include ▲ Protection from unfair dismissal, ▲ Establishment of the principle of direct employment with no fixed term by primary contractors, ▲ Equal pay for equal value work, ▲ Specification of a clause defining the purpose of the three basic labor rights and guaranteeing those rights for civil servants, ▲ Restoration of workers’ right to enjoy equal benefits and participate in management.
