Converting non-regular workers in the public sector to regular job status, to induce the private sector to follow suit
The government announced its ‘status of converting non-regular workers in the public sector to regular job status in 2013’ on 14 April. This is in accordance with the government plans, which reveals that a total of 31,782 non-regular workers in the public sector engaged in regular and constant work have been converted to regular job status.

The government plans to push ahead with converting non-regular workers to regular employment. For this, it will develop regulations on management of open-ended contracts and reflect related situation of each public institutions in the management evaluation 2014.
As government seems to push for converting non-regular workers into regular ones in private sector too, by strengthening its labor inspection in relation to discrimination, heavy burden on business is concerned.
