Hyundai Motor Posts 3rd Set of Job Openings for Direct Employment of Subcontracted Workers in 2015

Hyundai Motor posted technician job openings for subcontracted workers in its Ulsan, Jeonju, and Asan factories on 19 October.

These job openings represent the 3rd special recruitment for 2015, with the company planning to fill 362 positions through it. Successful applicants will be announced in December after the company screens resumes and completes interviews and pre-employment physical check-ups. Hired personnel will undergo training for 6 weeks and receive factory assignments in February 2016.

Starting with the 1st special recruitment for its subcontracted workers in July 2012 (198 employees), Hyundai Motor has directly hired 3,638 subcontracted workers: 1,658 in 2013, 982 in April 2014, and 400 in September 2015. With this 3rd job opening for 2015, the company will be fulfilling its August 18, 2014 agreement with labor, which involves hiring a total of 4,000 subcontracted workers as regular employees by the end of 2015 to resolve issues surrounding in-house subcontracting. Some of those issues included subcontract worker demands for direct employment, and labor shortages at factories.
