Korean Air runs tailored education & training for employees

Korean Air has adopted a systematic human resource education & training program to help its employees achieve their full potential.

The company has adopted a Career Development Plan to support employees setting their own career paths. Employees are able to set their own stages of career development and experience a variety of jobs through relocation according to those career development stages. Regardless their job positions, all the new employees will go thorough field works. After working one year, employees will attend a “refresher course” to help them better understand jobs in major departments of the company, and better develop their careers.

An Overseas Dispatch program and Regional Specialist program will also be offered to staff and managers towards developing a deeper awareness of foreign markets. Managers with experience and competence in a variety of jobs will be offered positions overseas.

Support for employee lifelong learning and continuous self-development will be enhanced.

Employees of Korean Air will be provided with full tuition at JungSeok College, the professional/technical college inside the company. The college runs bachelor degree programs in such areas as aviation logistics. Moreover, the 160 full-time employees who are enrolled in graduate programs and continue studying while working are provided with scholarships.

Through the ‘Cyber Campus,’ Korean Air’s online education program, employees in the field such as cabin crew are provided with 680 online programs. Field workers have access to online courses for foreign languages and work knowledge wherever they are and whenever they wish to study.
