Netmarble Company, the number one mobile games publisher, announced new measure to improve working conditions including ▲no work at night or on weekends ▲flexible working hours ▲no work instructions through mobile messengers after business hours ▲annual medical check-ups for all employees.
The company came up with detailed plans to adopt these measures under the requirement that the company needs to provide 24-hour game service. Game updates occurring late at night will be prohibited, starting with a few games and gradually expanding to all games published by the company. The company will have an adjustment period of one month to resolve problems that might appear because of the ban on late night updates. After this adjustment period, no game will have late night updates.
Task distribution will be improved through the hiring of more new employees, and Netmarble will do its best to alleviate current workloads. If the company cannot find suitable new workers right away and the existing workforce is required to work overtime, Netmarble will grant time off in lieu of overtime or reduce work hours to prevent worker fatigue.
Netmarble stated that “The company will cope with delays in game updates or releases in accordance with the new measures to improve working conditions. We are aware that it is difficult to avoid delays in the short term, but we expect performance to improve in the long term through a virtuous circle of hiring competent personnel, adjusting workloads, and improving job satisfaction.”
