1. Through outdoor rallies, two umbrella unions push forward to promote pending labor issues as social issues
At the end of October, two umbrella unions plan to stage outdoor rallies to demand the government and politicians revise labor laws.
On 17 October, the FKTU (Federation of Korean Trade Unions) held a meeting with representatives from its affiliate industrial unions and decided to hold a National Workers Rally on 18 November at Seoul Station. During this rally, the FKTU plans to demand the implementation of policy agreements made between then-presidential candidate Jae-in Moon and the FKTU and the abolishment of business list exempted from working-hour limitations.
The KCTU (Korean Confederation of Trade Unions) gave notice of its intent to set a period for organized struggle from 23 to 27 October to eradicate evils against labor and demanded a complete revision of labor laws and a strengthening of the punishment of employers to the National Assembly, the MOEL, and the Public Prosecution Office.
