Labor Trends

  1. Labor aims to increase both wages and employment security in 2018 collective bargaining

The Federation of Korean Trade Unions (FKTU) delivered its guidelines for wage and collective bargaining 2018 to its affiliates. The guidelines incorporate demands such as ▲worker’s participation in management, such as adoption of worker representation on corporate boards; ▲converting non-regular workers to regular status and abolishing discrimination against non-regular workers; ▲wage increases; ▲reduction of working hours; ▲employment security.

The two umbrella unions (the FKTU and the KCTU) announced their requests for wage increases.
