Hyundai Motor posted job openings for subcontracted workers in its factories and began special recruitment for 2015. Applications were accepted until 26 February, with successful applicants to be announced in April after the company screens resumes and completes interviews. Hired personnel will undergo training and receive factory assignments in June.
As part of an agreement on August 18, 2014 with labor to resolve issues surrounding in-house subcontracting, Hyundai Motor management will directly hire 4,000 subcontracted workers by the end of 2015.
Hyundai Motor has been directly hiring subcontracted workers since July 2012, and hired a total of 2,838 as of the end of 2014. The company will hire an additional 1,162 formal subcontracted workers this year to fulfill the agreement, formed in response to subcontract worker demands for direct employment, and to address factory labor shortages.
