Large enterprises such as SK Planet and Hyundai Motor Company are carrying out more year-round recruitment in place of seasonal recruitment sessions. Such companies are aiming to hire well-prepared individuals and put them in appropriate positions whenever job openings become available, unlike the long-held tradition of hiring many new people at a certain time of year.
SK Planet has decided to break away from the open recruitment of its parent company, SK Group. The company will announce job openings whenever new employees are needed.
Procedures for the year-round recruitment are the same as for the Group’s seasonal recruitment: resume screening, written test, interviews and medical exam. Once recruited, new employees will go through internship programs.
According to SK Planet “one of the great advantages of year-round recruitment is that companies can decide the number of employees they need for certain positions. Companies can place the right person at the right time.”
From this year, Hyundai Motor Company will also begin year-round interviews for all departments, something which has been used in the past for only the strategic support department.
Interested applicants will need to submit resumes that reflect the job descriptions posted on the official website and SNS pages of Hyundai Motor before being interviewed. Once they pass, applicants will not need to undergo the document screening that was a characteristic of seasonal recruitment. Hyundai Motor is planning to begin year-round interviews at the beginning of April 2016.
