GM Korea labor & management launch taskforce to improve sales

The labor and management of GM Korea have agreed to work together to gain a double digit share of the market. A taskforce to boost domestic sales has been established at the suggestion of GM Korea’s Union, and involves the trade union and departments such as GM’s domestic sales, labor relations, and external cooperation. The taskforce holds regular meetings to brainstorm and act on the best ideas.

During a workshop at the beginning of this year, GM Korea’s labor and management signed a memorandum of understanding with the City of Incheon and its local business associations to boost sales in Incheon. Through efforts such as this, GM Korea sold 11,417 vehicles in February 2016, the highest ever since 2003.

A spokesperson of GM Korea said “the company would like to express its appreciation to our trade union for participating in enhancing domestic sales, which is our priority towards securing sustainable competitiveness. GM Korea will be working to increase domestic sales in ways presented by the taskforce (with the union participating), and go all out in achieving a market share in the double digits.”
