The labor and management of Kolon Industry have signed a ‘Tripartite Agreement on Social Responsibility’ with the Ministry of Employment and Labor (MOEL). The Agreement is designed to promote job creation and job security, and share growth with the community and the company’s subcontractors.
The major objectives of the Agreement are: ▲establish an exemplary labor-management culture ▲create decent jobs and reinvigorate local economies ▲balance work and family ▲observe the MOEL’s Fair Personnel Management Guidelines and Rules of Employment Guidelines ▲share growth with subcontractor companies ▲ contribute to development of the community and the national economy.
In 2007, the trade union in Kolon Industry announced a commitment to ‘permanent peace’ with no industrial action. In January 2016, the company formed a task force under the slogan of ‘Labor & Management are One Body’ and has been focusing on improvements to cut production costs, develop production capacity, and improve industrial safety and the corporate culture.
A company spokesperson stated that “Kolon Industry will contribute to the community and development of the national economy through advanced industrial relations.” The trade union also stated that “The union will do its best to carry out this Agreement for the community and shared growth, based on the trust that exists between labor and management.”
