1. Tripartite members agree on the necessity of resuming social dialogue as soon as possible

The tripartite members announced a ‘Tripartite Joint Declaration for Social Dialogue’ in the Asia Future Forum on 16 November. This joint declaration was made by the Korea Employers Federation (KEF), the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), the Federation of Korean Trade Unions (FKTU), the Presidential Committee on Jobs, the Tripartite Commission, and the Ministry of Employment & Labor (MOEL).

ㆍ The tripartite members agreed that creating decent jobs, tackling Korea’s low birthrate and aging population are top priorities, as well as making efforts to resolve these issues for the sake of the nation.

ㆍ The tripartite members will work to resume social dialogue as soon as possible through development of social dialogue agendas and reconstructing a social dialogue institution such as the Tripartite Commission through tripartite representative meetings.
